Essential Tattoo Aftercare Instructions
1. First 5 Days
-
Wash your tattoo gently with warm, soapy water twice a day (morning and evening).
-
Pat it dry with a clean paper towel or let it air dry.
-
Do not apply any cream, lotion, or ointment during this time. Keep the tattoo dry.
2. Day 6 Onwards
-
Continue to wash your tattoo with warm, soapy water twice a day.
-
After 6 days of only washing and keeping tattoo dry, apply a small amount of E45 cream (or a recommended moisturiser) 3 times a day to keep the area hydrated.
-
Moisturise until the tattooed skin stops appearing shiny.
3. General Care for 2 Weeks
-
Avoid baths; only take showers to prevent soaking the tattoo.
-
No swimming in pools, the sea, or any water.
-
Avoid saunas or steam rooms.
-
Do not use sunbeds, and keep the tattoo out of direct sunlight.
4. Avoid Harmful Substances
-
Do not consume drugs or alcohol during the healing process, as they can slow down recovery.
5. Do Not Touch the Tattoo
-
Avoid scratching, rubbing, or picking at scabs or peeling skin. Let it heal naturally to avoid scarring or loss of ink.
6. Concerns? Contact the Studio
-
If you notice signs of infection (e.g., excessive redness, swelling, or pus) or have any concerns, contact the tattoo studio for advice immediately.
Following these steps will help ensure your tattoo heals properly and looks its best.
